My thanks to the folks at Pantograph for the app. This page turns out to cover three battery
electric buses of the northeastern Bay Area. I started by tracking recently acquired
SolTrans Gillig electric 4601 on routes 5 and 6 around Vallejo. Stopped for a lunch with
Sac's Tasty Hot Dogs on Springs Rd.
Next was a drive up to Napa, where I located one of the recently acquired Golden Gate Transit
Gillig suburbans, number 1966, on the southbound route 11. Have photos of a Calistoga livery cutaway
operating in Napa. Saw that BYD electric 302 was running the F line, so I went to W. Imola Ave.
to get those pictures. VINE has the 302 decorated with an owl in a nature theme that emphasizes
zero emissions.
And then I had already seen on Pantograph that County Connection was operating Gillig battery electric trolley
bodied 1601 on the 4 downtown circulator, so I drove down to Walnut Creek to get shots on California St.
and on Main St.
Stopped by The Original Hick'ry Pit on South Main for a BLT sandwich. Afterward, I drove
Danville Blvd. in Alamo to take route 21 oncoming shots on the wooded two lane sections.
