Latest update to correct the model of bus and add new links to current service done 09/04/23.

ABOUT SANTA CRUZ TROLLEY:

Santa Cruz Metro had a 2002 Optima AH-28 trolley bodied bus numbered 10 that sat idle for a number of years. The Santa Cruz County Redevelopment Association bought the coach and gave it to a partnership of businesses and public agencies to start a shuttle service between downtown and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk effective July 1, 2011. First Transit operated the trolley, which runs from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day every 30 minutes between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. for a 25¢ fare.

As of Labor Day 2019, the trolley was discontinued in favor of a new electric shuttle program that was to begin in summer 2020. The pandemic prevented that from happening. Link However, that program was implemented by the summer of 2023, see my page of photos and Santa Cruzer.

Information comes from the Santa Cruz Patch and the Santa Cruz Trolley.
