99¢ ONLY STORES:
A newly opened 99¢ Only Store at San Carlos and Brooklyn Sts. in San Jose on January 20, 2010. This is the first location that has penetrated Silicon Valley; previously opened locations exist in Gilroy and in the East Bay from Hayward north. I am familiar with this chain from my visits to Ventura County. Two new photos added 01/21/10.

ALTERED STATE TRUCK:
This truck makes an annual pilgrimage to Burning Man. Seen at my friends' shop on November 28, 2009. Seven new photos added 11/30/09.

BIRDS:
A dead pigeon on a downtown San Jose sidewalk on July 31, 2006. One new photo added 08/22/09.

A flock of seagulls flying over Blossom Hill Road in south San Jose (near Almaden Plaza Shopping Center) on March 4, 2009. Four new photos added 08/22/09.

BONEYARD SHUTTLE:


This oversized bus called Grave Diggers Boneyard Shuttle gave rides during October 1997 at Northridge Mall in Salinas. Ten new photos added 01/05/10.

CALTRAIN:
The pedestrian tunnel and some steps leading to it at the Palo Alto Caltrain station on June 3, 2009. Two new photos added 08/22/09.

E-BIKE:
Julius' E-Bike in June 1999. One new photo added 12/03/09.

HP PAVILION:
HP Pavilion in downtown San Jose on the night of October 19, 2009. Two new photos added 11/23/09.

HUMDINGER TOY SHOW:
Humdinger Toy Show was held annually at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose during the summers. Here's a picture of a clown statue that stood outside the entrance to the show; I took it in 1998. One new photo added 01/05/10.

JACK DANIELS:
A Jack Daniels mini bottle was on the sidewalk at Market St. and Van Ness Ave. in San Francisco on October 3, 2006. One new photo added 11/23/09.

MARGARITAVILLE EXPRESS:
Margaritaville Express is an MCI bus that appeared in Santa Clara at the time of a Jimmy Buffett performance. April 25, 2006. Three new photos added 11/28/09.

PAK'N SAVE FOODS:
The former Pak'n Save Foods store in Sunnyvale was closed January 2010. Chain owner Safeway intended to convert this place into a regular Safeway store. I took these pictures on the evening of January 30, 2010.

The front sign letters were removed. When they were still there, the letters were a dull red. "Foods" was added to the sign in the late 1990s; it used to say just "Pak'n Save." Two new photos added 01/31/10.

PAYPAL BUS:
Paypal Gillig 432 at San Jose Diridon Station on October 26, 2007. Five new photos added 11/28/09.

SCHWINN TRICYCLE:
This 1958 Schwinn trike was at the shop on June 18-19, 2004 for some maintenance: new tires, 3-speed shifter, and new paint. Seven new photos added 12/01/09.

SIGNS:
An orange "Detour" sign on Stevens Creek Blvd. near Bandley Dr. in Cupertino on April 6, 2008. One new photo added 08/22/09.

SUNNY BUFFET:
Sunny Buffet is an all-you-can-eat Asian-American restaurant at 502 Ross Drive in Sunnyvale (Mathilda Ave. between US 101 and CA 237 freeways). Some of the foods served are crab legs, frog legs, coconut shrimp, fried shrimp, clams, oysters, fried rice, soups, sushi, ribs, and chicken. Here's a photo of Sunny Buffet from March 21, 2009.

TEDDY BEAR STORY TIME:
Ritz Camera once offered Russ teddy bears as a premium to its customers. On April 3, 2004 I gathered a number of the stuffed animals at the store and pretended to read to them from a Ritz catalog. One new photo added 12/01/09.
