South Coast Area Transit, founded in 1973, provided bus service to the Western Ventura County cities of
Oxnard, Ventura, Port Hueneme, and Ojai along with the corresponding unincorporated areas between them.
SCAT became Gold Coast Transit on July 1, 2007.
